You misunderstand me. My attitude is "I've worked in an unforgiving business for four decades, so I am painfully aware of my capacity for folly. I assume you are human, and therefore have the same capacity. This is not to be taken as an insult." But if you *do* take it as an insult, I take this as a danger sign.

I certainly do not think I'm the only professional here. I expect I will lose the race to get the first gEDA design into space. And I've gotten excellent advice on ASIC design from another denizen here. I am also not opposed to newbies or hobbyists. I believe I've been a significant contributor to the geda-help list.

I have a Jeep Wrangler, and by far its most common "use case" is driving to the grocery store on well-maintained roads. But the main reason I'm pleased to have it is that it can handle bad mountain roads in bad weather. It is a good thing that its designers focused on the most challenging "use cases" rather than the everyday ones.
