Understand that I work in the space program, and have lived through the consequences of mistakes by extremely competent people.

In my business, that *is* the assumption. And highly competent people do not find it insulting. We all know that we can make billion dollar screwups (I've come closer than I like to doing exactly that).

I'm happier with the work on the foundations. But the gschem UI is what it is, very old fashioned, and trying to improve it by adding "features" has made it harder to use, not easier. 21st century UI's are fundamentally very different. I would support an effort to make a modern gschem.
