As DJ said, don't be afraid to ask questions. Also don't be afraid to
make mistakes and click things -- everything in gschem and pcb can be
undone[1], and you might want to put your project files into source
control for even more assurance.

If something seems wrong or confusing, let us know. We're aware that
the documentation is buggy, and certainly gEDA is buggy, so there's
a good chance that the problem is not on your end.

Sometimes messages can seem rude here, but that's merely an illusion
caused by text-based communication. (Plus, people tend to be precise
and busy.) It is my belief that we are all secretly nice. ;)



[1] This is not quite true. If you select one or more objects, then
    start to move them, then hit Esc before releasing the mouse,
    this will permanently delete the selected objects. As it turns
    out, this is a very hard bug to fix. Maybe in the summer I will
    have time to deal with it.

    It is bug #907827 on Launchpad, for reference.
