Hi Edward,
I downloaded Windows ZIP file dated 2008_02_12, so not the last version. I
played about 10 minutes and sent following list of questions/tips to liquidpcb
author. The idea of not-clicking-all-the-time is really good and I like it.

- recent documents are dummy, aren't they ? It would be worth at least create
one simple example and put it into recent documents
- document = project ? Everything is in single file ?
- the PCB is always circle ? Can I define the size and shape of the board ?
- How can I change top/bottom layer ? Ctrl-Z does something different
- I do not see vias on the bottom side
- If I put several Vias and connect them with Tracks, Tracks start to flutter
and live their own life
- Is there any mode to have just 45degree tracks, possibly with circular
corners ?
- I have some strange problem with components - DIL does not work, SOIC does
but putting on the board I do not see any pads
- Can Tracks be somehow optimized - make tracks shorter ?
- is there UNDO ?
- component library menu does nothing ?
- I can not cancel "File Open" dialog
- how can I set track width ?

I think that idea of liquidpcb is good. But what is necessary from my point of
 view, at least:

- import of schematic/netlist, possibly with placement recommendation and
unrouted tracks
- export to GERBER
- libraries - they seem confusing to me

Answer was that some stuff is already implemented and author will hopefully
prepare more up-to-date ZIP file.

If there would be people working on it, IMO liquidpcb has potential to grow to
very interesting piece of PCB software.

Vaclav

In reading the current topics I saw LiquidPCB (http://www.liquidpcb.org/)
mentioned. I looked at their homepage and it was rather interesting. Even
though the project seems to be somewhat dead with no activity in two years, it
is quite compelling. I downloaded the source for LiquidPCB and its dependents
and attempted to compile it. I got quite far, until some I encountered some
argument errors that appear to caused by my using newer libraries than the
code was written for. I gave up and deleted all of the code - BUT - wonder,
has anyone successfully tested LiquidPCB and, if so, what did you think of it?
