Some of them are. Some of them are processed into Si wafers. Some of them are "processed" into test circuits on "white blocks" or perfboard. Some of them feed simulation or symbolic analysis. Some of them are just documentation. GEDA is powerful and versatile, you know.

I've suggested it to my customers. Nobody likes it. I've tried to use pcb myself, and found it very difficult. It's like driving in downtown Boston: pathways into the problem space that were apparently chosen at random without any plan. It's not the GUI that's the problem: it's the lack of an organized foundation.
