A work around would be to make a sub schematic for each case, and layout for each case.

Then edit your hierarchy to include the schematic versions you want, try layout using sections
of layout in the paste buffers for each case.  When you find a case where the alternate layout
would be better, edit the schematic, delete the layout section, reload the layout section from a file,
redo the netlist, import the new netlist, check netlist against layout.
