Personally, I don't like git, for various reasons, so don't expect too
much from me.  I used CVS because it was already set up on my server
and I didn't need to do much to make gedasymbols use it.

However, if someone comes up with a plan for a new gedasymbols, and is
willing and able to make it work, perhaps now would be an opportunity
to move gedasymbols to the geda-project server?

The key factors are:

* users can only edit their own files, but admins can edit any file

* automatically becomes a web page, including automatic symbol,
  footprint, and CSV to image/table/whatever

* it must be easy to add and manage users.  There are a lot more
  gedasymbols users than geda developers.  This does not include users
  being able to "register" without an admin's approval.

* it is currently mirrored to a second server for redundancy
