As someone else suggested I'd accept that it's frozen and look to incorporate
old dependencies that distros may stop supporting.  Since devel is
essentially stopped there's little down-the-road cost to doing it that
way, though
still the up-front work of course.

pcb-rnd has added too many  features without enough users or testing to
get them all right and it's sluggish compared to pcb.  It's where I'd
go if forced
but otherwise no.  I don't need pcb to do anything different than it
already does,
as long as it keeps building that's enough.
