When using sch-rnd and pcb-rnd, you often switch grid size forth and back. 
If you are on english keyboard, you can use [ and ] to set previous or 
next predefined grid size. Or you can use {g d} to double the grid or {g 
h} to halve the grid.

The default 4k grid is our convention for terminal pitch and symbol 
placement so everything line up nicely. But then we oftne use 2k or even 
1k grid for wiring and text placement.

It's the abstract model dialog. After the (auto)compilation finished, the 
abstract model is what sch-rnd think your drawing means. The abstract 
model holds all the conclusions on what's connected where and the final 
attributes and names of objets. Any netlist is generated from the abstract 
model.

The abstact model dialog an be opened from the window menu or using the 
hotkey {w a}.
