I do indeed have them under separate prefixes:

     $ which gschem
     /home/bkerin/opt/geda-gaf-1.10.2/bin/gschem
     $ which pcb
     /home/bkerin/opt/pcb-4.3.0/bin/pcb

I added to ~/.gEDA/gnetlistrc this line:

     (scheme-directory "/home/bkerin/opt/pcb-4.3.0/share/gEDA/scheme")

where the file you mentioned is found.

Now gnetlist --list-backends shows PG (it showed only P before):

     $ gnetlist --list-backends | grep pcbfwd
       [PG] pcbfwd
     $

but unfortunately pcb still gives exactly the same error and no new
nets show up.
I guess if that error is coming from gnetlist there isn't some similar
path that needs
to be added somehow on the pcb side?

Britton
