I'm interested.  Good test designs would be a nice start for working on
this and are always welcome in Lepton.  I cannot promise much, but maybe
just starting the work in this direction will give us some better
progress.  (I did some work on testing/refactoring sch2pcb in Lepton
though it was never published.)
