I do, but I suspect this is one of those problems that's usually so
tangled up with people's particular production setups it's going to be
hard to come up with a generally useful factorization.  This is
probably particularly true for gEDA users.  Hate to discourage an
effort but you asked and it's definitely one of those things I would
never have the courage to budge from my existing setup.
