the general idea is to phase Guile out of gEDA/gaf since users relying on 
legacy Guile setups tend to use lepton-eda anyway.  (The ability to use 
gnetlist backends written in Guile won't be affected; gnetlist is still 
going to be 100% backward-compatible.)

This is not going to happen overnight, though, so at least for 1.9.3, 
Guile will still be a dependency.

Is installing Guile 2.0 in parallel to Guile 2.2 an option for you?

I'm somewhat reluctant to put effort into something that's going to be 
removed anyway, but if Guile 2.2 support can be added without too much 
effort, I'm happy to include this in 1.9.3.
