I've put the following in my gafrc file (as per the gschem FAQ):-

    (load (build-path geda-rc-path "gschem-colormap-lightbg"))

... but it produces an error:-

    Cannot load gschem configuration
    Unable to parse config from [/home/chris/doc/geda/gafrc]: ERROR:
    Index in colour map entry must be an integer
