I'm contenplating to make a board design suitable for embedded programming courses, so if anyone is interested you are welcome to make suggestions. My spec would be something like: suitable to be done by yourself public design/open hw 2-layer pcb not too small components, parhaps >= 1608 metric (0603) throught hole components to ease routing use common values, e.g. E6-series one pcb instead a few connected has serial port can-bus i2c spi dac adc usb (device only?) h-bridge for motor control ? ethernet ? onboard switches leds irda ? rs485 ? fram eeprom ntc-inputs pt100-inputs chip reader (as in credit card with chip)? micro sd car 1-wire bus + DS18B20 temp.sensor ?
