Hi all! Pcb-rnd has two working auto-router mechanism at the moment and one planned: - the classic PCB autorouter plugin (together with the djopt plugin) - dsn export -> freerouting.net app -> dsn import (external autorouting) - planned: auto-complete network I am considering the removal of the toporouter code, because: - at the moment it compiles but does not work properly - it's huge - it's unmaintained - as far as I remember it is not finished (it doesn't add vias?) - it's slightly buggy (e.g. it happily routes on the outline layer) - there's no sign anyone wants to finish or at least maintain it - it depends on a modified version of gts that needs to be shipped in the source distribution - as far as I see it doesn't have a menu item even in mainline (which suggests mainline doesn't consider it a stable feature to advertise - correct me if it is just a mistake in the menu file) ************************************************************************* This is the LAST CALL: if you want to use toporouter in pcb-rnd, contact me in private. ************************************************************************* The obscolesce process: I'd remove toporouter and gts from trunk - probably archiving the last compilable state in work/. If later on someone wants to maintain it or it gets finished/maintained in mainline, I will reconsider this decision and may move the source back in trunk/. Regards, Igor2
