It's one that is especially frustrating, and why gnucap uses a simple script and modular makefiles rather than any of the big configuration systems. There are branches in git that use autotools and cmake, but they don't work right so they stay as branches. I did look at others. I think the best so far is that simple script and modular makefiles that gnucap uses, but it is incomplete. Judging a system without taking a look .... Verilog netlists, including layout and schematic metadata. .... Right here, people judge without taking a look.
