I’ve never had to rewrite a single line of code in gschem, gnetlist, or libgeda to do a very wide variety of things. I agree it's very flexible, no problem express any circuit.

It simple and easy to understand. A schematic is a graphical representation of electrical components and connections between them, nothing more nothing less.

Schematics may be used for: VHDL, simulation, circuit board, manual connections with cables or whenever there is a need to represent connections between components graphically.
