Agreed, and a number of behaviors that seem odd actually make a lot of
sense.  I like the pointer warp in DRC for example even if it's
normally considered a no-no it's the right behavior for the situation.
So maybe it's not worth trying to make things only marginally more
consistent with for example the changes in the original email.  There
are a number of things that could work that way though, and over time
we might get a lot of them.  Are you opposed in general to all such
efforts?  I'm not religious either way on this issue, it's just that
early experiences with a lot of the menu options really turned me off
them and I'm interested in ways to improve that for new users now.
