It would be nice to know but I wouldn't do this.  New users have zero
commitment and everything you inflict on them before they get to get
started counts against you.  For web stuff they have people go through and
count the individual clicks required and if it gets too high the engineers
get told to try again.

There's not much to be done about this.  Volunteer devs are going to focus
on what they themselves need.  The best you can do is try to integrate
their contributions such that they are findable and usable.
