(example: photoshop layers aren't always "material" and Eagle has more layers than just the physical ones) Pedantically choosing one of several meanings just to prove "I'm wrong" is not helpful at all. And we know that there might be confusion because every system uses terms not quite the same way, so we took the time to clarify it in the documentation.
