Hello All,
   If you will look at gEDA version I have 1.6.2.20110115 which is
installed on Debian 7.5 on an emachines with an AMD Athlon 2600+
processor and 744mb of ram. I would like to suggest that you open gschem
schematic capture, "click on Add, click on Component, click on power
rails, click on gnd-1.sym or gnd-2.sym symbols or on, IEC60417, click on
chassis.sym." I have gEDA ver 1.6.2.20110115 on my system.
