Hi Britton,
I do not fully agree with your last statement.
I wish this stupid "feud" as you call it, could stop too.
Calling it a "feud" gives it more credit than it deserves, IMHO it's
single sided and "targeted" people just defend themselves.
Everyone who has earned a place *somewhere* should be left in peace in
that place, pushing and shoving of volunteers in FOSS is *not* acceptable.
The way I see it is that Markus drove himself off being too impatient.
You just can't change *everything* overnight without consulting with
other developers who earned their place.
Not every developer can be contacted within mere days, and in the
"driven" way Markus did.
It was just too much action required from the other developers in a very
confined time frame, and some of his opinions were preset from his
experiences two years ago.
There was hardly a dialog possible, and I still see a monolog from time
to time, just sending messages, and not receiving and showing respect
for other opinions.
What I have seen in the last couple of weeks was a very impatient and
very driven developer who just couldn't contain his temper.
I'm available for all other opinions if they make sense.
Kind regards,
Bert Timmerman.
