Yes, this this one of the most annoying non-features of google searches
If you use firefox or iceweasel the add-on "google search link fix" 
might help. I habitually install it wherever I use firefox:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-search-link-fix/?src=search

This adds an item "No Google" if you right-click on links in google
result pages. This item allows you to copy the original URL to the
copy/paste buffer.

For chrome, the plug-in "Don't track me Google" is supposed provide a
similar service. (Haven't tried it myself):
