I have used gEDA for commercial and personal purposes on and off for 5-6 years. I've asked for help on many occasions. I've received timely, truly helpful replies from quite a few different individuals. I've never been ignored. I've never had an unpleasant exchange with anybody. I really appreciate those who work on these tools and who answer those of us who need a hand. I hope that someday I may be proficient enough to aid in their development or at least answer some questions. I hope we can all find a way to work together. I'd hate to see these tools slowly die. Ask questions nicely, be considerate, assume noble intent. Roger Traylor (a quiet and happy gEDA user) > I use gEDA for commercial purposes. Regarding ordinary users, the majority > of developers on this list totally ignore us. This is nothing new - It has > been the dynamic for years and personally, I do not expect this aspect to > change. The difference between me and HUNDREDS of users over the last 10 > years is I have managed to figure out how to use the tools without asking > for help. Say what you will, this list is not user friendly. Flame me for > stating the facts... > > Regards > Marvin Dickens
