I was really surprised a few months ago when someone wrote that he is using gEDA/PCB commercial. From commercial users I would expect some active support, that can be active support for other users, promotion, or maybe financial donations for developers. > This is nothing new - It has > been the dynamic for years and personally, I do not expect this aspect to > change. Say what you will, this list is not user friendly. Flame me for > stating the facts... It was my feeling that people on this list really tried to help with user questions. Maybe I missed a lot, I had not the time to really follow the list traffic when it was really noisy. But often I saw user questions and people like DJ or Kai_Martin and others really trying to help. Of course developers can not start coding whenever something works not as a user desires :-) Do you know the gtk list? That is one of the really problematic lists. Only one GTK core developer seems to be still subscribed, so chances for getting informations is really not good. There are a few open questions currently again. There is IRC and a forum also, but I was told that there is not better support. That is really sad.
