I think fonts for screen display should look as beautiful as possible, and drawing speed should be as fast as possible. So use native fonts. For gerber file -- silk and copper -- we can not use native fonts, but have to construct it from lines and arcs. Disadvantage is that screen display and gerber display looks not exactly the same. For me that is OK, others may not like it. For copper, we may enforce the gerber font for screen display to guarantee identical layout. And we may offer gerber font for screen display for people who like that better. Sorry, fully abstract theoretical opinion only.
