Where can I find more information about this change? The only related entry I found in in the NEWS file in 1.8.x is: > > * Net segments with at least two connections (including indirect > connections via `netname=' attributes) are now drawn with arrowheads > rather than box markers on dangling ends in `gschem' and printed > output. > > Is this the change you are referring to, and if so, how does it make box selection harder? It has apparently been reverted in 1.9.0. I'm speaking of the fact that Shift-click selects all touching segments rather than toggling selection of the one you click on. That prevents you from cleaning up a box selection that has included a net segment you don’t want to include. I’m not completely sure that is a 1.8-ism, but it’s a fairly recent addition to somebody who has used gEDA for 12 years. The other misfeature that makes box selection hard is that click and drag on an object now moves it. A shortcut to avoid “m”. It’s sometimes hard to find a good corner for the box, especially because you can’t clean up the net segment selection after. This one has me hitting ^Z a lot more than I used to need to.
