Consider each bread board tie point to have resistance up to 0.5 ohm or
perhaps even more, and not much power dissipation.  If you're putting any
current through it it won't work consistently on a breadboard.

I've gotten tempted to try and gotten voltage sags, slight melting of
breadboard etc.
