If there’s to be a common internal netlist format it should be something simple and neutral. In my flows, I use trivial files of relations encoded as tab-separated values when I need a neutral, easy to process, representation of netlists BOMs, etc. See http://www.gedasymbols.org/user/john_doty/tools/pins2gsch.html for one of the tools. Simple tools like “cut” can handle these files trivially. So can extremely complex tools like Mathematica. John Doty Noqsi Aerospace, Ltd. http://www.noqsi.com/ jpd AT noqsi DOT com
