I don't think web based EDA tools are bad thing. As long as you don't count on them too much. I think for web forums and other online collabration something like this

would be a great tool to have for collabration if the URL would give schematics. (PlantUML doesn't do that.) Anyone who has tried to explain ciruit without schematics knows it is hard.

If gschem had an autorouter and some basic components and djboxsym and some magic..... Well. Too difficult task for me at least.

But I found easyeda.com hard to use. Maybe I'm spoiled with the luxury of gEDA and PCB :)

I'll agree with the assessment, but I'd love to be able to use PCB from a tablet somehow.  Currently the GL rendering makes even RDP or X problematic.
