Generally we try and run about 2 years behind our dependencies, so 1.9.1
will probably have an increment of required GTK+ version.  2.24.0 would
*probably* be the next version required (released 2013-01-30).  Debian
oldstable is, well, pretty old.  Bumping to GTK+ 2.24.x would get us to
the last GTK2 stable release series, and would provide a good
jumping-off point for any masochist who feels like attempting a GTK3
port.

On the subject of dependencies, when Guile 2.2 is released sometime next
year I'm going to remove support for Guile < 2.0, because (a) Guile 2.x
is much faster, (b) Guile 2.x has a much better standard library for
gEDA extension writers to use, and (c) I won't really have the bandwidth
to maintain support for three different major versions of Guile.
