Really?

In case your approach is entirely different, add it as a feature  
branch, too. Then people can decide which one works better.

In case it's a similar approach, put your features on top of Berts!

Nothing is carved in stone and working on a HID is by no means  
limited to one person.

Especially I think exporters should give reasonable results by just  
clicking through the dialog, which I think Bert ones doesn't, yet. In  
todays world, people have a strong tendency to throw a tool away in  
case it doesn't produce results on the first spot, no matter how  
powerful it is with some knowledge.
