Hello,
I recently moved to Linux Mint 14, but I found that the gEDA components
in the official repository's were quite old versions (2011 build) with
some annoying old bugs.
So I added the mehanik/geda-unstable PPA, and updated the gEDA stuff
from there.
PCB is working just perfectly now, but gschem has severe problems. Upon
starting, the following error message appears:
Cannot load gschem configuration
Failed to load RC file [/etc/gEDA/system-gschemrc]: no code for module
(geda page)
The file /etc/gEDA/system-gschemrc is present; I'm not sure what to make
of this geda page message.
After closing this window, gschem sort of starts, but severely crippled,
with lots of toolbar icons missing, and some more error messages in the
status window:
ERROR: no code for module (geda page)
Error reading file init scm [/usr/share/gEDA/scheme/gschem.scm]
ERROR: no code for module (geda page)
ERROR: Failed to load RC file [/etc/gEDA/system-gschemrc]: no code for
module (geda page)

New file [/home/richard/.gEDA/logs/untitled_1.sch]
followed by what looks like some failed attempts to set meta key
triggers.
The file /etc/gEDA/system-gschemrc also exists, and contains a reference
to geda page:
((@ (geda page) set-page-dirty!) (active-page) #f))
#t)
However I can't make anything of it.
The image files are present, yet not in any lib directory, e.g.
$ locate gschem-comp.xpm
/usr/share/gEDA/bitmap/gschem-comp.xpm
Removing the PPA, completely purging the geda-gschem from the system and
attempting to reinstall didn't accomplish much either -- all sorts of
dependencies weren't met of course, so I'd probably have to revert to
all the old gEDA versions.
Does anyone know how what I may have done wrong, and how I can fix this
problem?
Thanks in advance,
Richard Rasker
