Yes, they're a great first step, but they are not the installer.

Right, and I think the project can benefit from that. It would be
nice if Klaus could contribute what he has developed.

I am not suggesting that it be committed as-is, but it would be good
as a starting point for a plain unaffiliated installer, right?
