I can only judge in two widely used version control systems: git and CVS.
My experience with them is mostly opposite. The more I know of CVS, the
more missing features I find. And there are "features" I would rather
live without, too. =20
By contrast, every time I wish git had something, it happens to be
already in place -- just unknown to me. Documentation by the project and
by third party authors is excellent. The intimate relation to the
development of the linux kernel virtually guarantees performance and
makes the project as future proof as it gets.
