I do want to be able to suggest running scripts from a shell. What is FOSS and recommended for that? This sounds like the minimal way -- instal mingw and msys: "MSYS is a collection of GNU utilities such as bash, make, gawk and grep to allow building of applications and programs which depend on traditionally UNIX tools to be present. It is intended to supplement MinGW and the deficiencies of the cmd shell." > I have a on going series of Makefile tips for doing unusual things on my blog: > http://blog.softwaresafety.net/2011/03/make-makefile-tip-4-gnu-make-standard.html > >>> >>The Windows versions act just like the Linux versions... > Unless you want to print, or has that been fixed? My windows collaborator will expect easy printing too... John
