As you know, I make no such assumption. But I perceive that you advocate development uncritically.

A commitment to stability, simplicity, and clean design are characteristics of good engineering. The idea that these goals can be achieved by a series of specific changes each targeted toward a specific problem runs counter to all of my experience.
I submit that your point of view is at least as political and emotionally charged as mine. You have very strong prejudices, and they show.
