That's also how I see it :)

There are some good time saving tricks for manual routing.  It pays to
learn the keyboard short cuts:

The keys that I use a  lot during routing are:

Esc
Space (behaves slightly differently to Esc in the GTK HID)
Insert
Tab
F2

M and Shift-M
Ctrl-R

If you are unfamiliar with any of those then I recommend learning
their function, as they are all time savers.

One final time saver:

When routing, using the "Delete" key to get other stuff out of the way
is useful.  At one time it was possible to do this even in the middle
of a routing operation, without cancelling the routing operation.  I
think that functionality broke in the GTK HID a while back, but I
imagine it still works in the lesstif HID.
