Creating schematics on an ipad would be a legitimate use for these 
devices, though :-)

Some 21st century GUI conventions I miss in gschem:

* tabs
* dockable toolboxes
* right-click to open a contextual menu
* visual feedback for the current state of a tool
* in place editing of strings
* all UTF8 characters allowed in all strings
* handles to manipulate objects
* user preferencs set in a GUI
* color preferences set with a color picker 
* a printer dialog that displays the available printers
* search and replace

None of them would make gschem loose its identity
