Unfortunately I have no idea about the reason currently. On my Gentoo box I have only the basic fonts installed, and all is working. And, generally zooming should use just cairo's scale operation, which should work with all fonts. Maybe Peter C. has used a more complicated approach when integrating cairo drawing into gschem? Currently I do not know if cairo's so called toy text is used, or if Pango is used. Sorry. Best regards, Stefan Salewski
