On my Gentoo (AMD64) box I have not seen your observations.
Gschem 1.6.2 has some other small bugs, one is related to panning.

You may consider making a screenshot of wrong drawing.

You have send your mail as HTML, which is for me an indication of not
really smart people, so let me ask a very basic question: Are you using
native gentoo, or some sort of virtual emulation.
