My impression from outside the deveolopers circuit is, that there is
(currently?) no planning with specific dates in place. A similar situation
just happended with debian. A few weeks ago, Debian/wheezy entered freeze
mode with pcb at version 20110918 and geda/gaf at version 1.6.2. The actual
release of wheezy will be probably in spring 2013. Judging from the past,
the development of its successor Jessie will take about two years. So
regular Debian users will be presented pcb v20110918 / geda v1.6.2 until
2015.
