I solved that problem. I got a message in the terminal

"could not open the device file /dev/nvidiactl"

for both files, tut1.pcb and lightning.pcb. Because tut1.pcb was working
fine, I did not care too much about that message.

After # gpasswd -a stefan video

and new login all works. Still I wonder why I was not in the video group
any more, and I wonder why tut1.pcb was working, while lightning.pcb
gave me an empty window, with no additional messages in the log. It's a
strange world...
