Thanks Karl, I did not know this program pdftotext. It put out lines for each label when I ran it from a file, like this: PD2 (INT0/PCINT18) PD1 (TXD/PCINT17) . . . So, it's already in a pin to name mapping -- very useful after one has chosen a page to extract from. The GUI way might be good also. Think of picking the one diagram from a datasheet page of four and selecting just that one, and selecting banks of names might copy and paste well. I tried that some and the pin numbers were not grabbed on the same line as the other labels though. John -- Ecosensory
