Altough unsupported in pcb at present, it has been supported in pcb-rnd for
some time now.

You just draw a poly, then draw a line in it (on the same layer of course),
and apply the thermal tool to the line and it simply works as expected.

You could try it if you want with your existing layout, which will load in
pcb-rnd; simply install pcb-rnd with your preferred package manager +/-
experiment in a blank layout to see how it works.
