Minor developer here, but mostly a user. I favor Lepton for continuing =
with the original gEDA vision in two ways:
1) It embraces and extends the Guile-based scripting that made gEDA so =
amenable to automation.
2) It=E2=80=99s agnostic about which layout program you use: it has no =
favored layout component.
Roland has demonstrated that he can be hyper-productive with his =
Xorn-based gEDA, but I found it incomprehensible. Guile is much easier =
to understand. The layout people I work with all have different favorite =
tools, so decoupling schematic entry and layout is very important to me.
