Yes, or net=3D attributes on connected pins. Nets with the same name =
will always be connected together, whether you draw a connection to a =
bus or not.

There are heuristics that control the angle of the bus connector. They =
apparently worked for somebody=E2=80=99s workflow. But the bus connector =
is just a symbol, so you may move, rotate or reflect it just like any =
other symbol. It has graphical=3D1 and no other attributes, so it=E2=80=99=
s ignored by gnetlist. You need not worry about placing or connecting it =
wrongly.
