As a guess, I'd suggest uninstalling all the gEDA packages you can find..
dpkg-query -l "*geda*"
Should give you a list
Then either choose to leave the PPA in place, and try installing what you
need.. or remove it.
apt-get update first to make sure all updates are current, after changing
the repository, and before trying to re-install.
Looking at this:
https://launchpad.net/~mehanik/+archive/ubuntu/geda-unstable/+packages
It seems the amd64 builds have been failing, so that may be the source of
your problems - I'm not sure.
