Hm, there are two sets of instructions.

First, it is explained how to use File->Print layout, then it is
explained how to use File->Export layout->gerber.

I actually mean neither of these, but instead File->Export layout->ps

The PostScript export dialog is similar to the PostScript print
dialog, but I never used the print method, always only export, and
then I reviewed in a separate document viewer application, and then
printed. Always perfect results, and always 1:1.000 scale, if that is
what I set in the PostScript export dialog.

Verify that the correct paper size is chosen! I am in Europe, where
we have A4 paper, so I always have to change the Letter setting.

If I would print a Letter PS on A4 some applications will rescale,
and we don't want that.

At the bottom left on every page in the PS export I have:

project, front, scale = 1:1.000
project.pcb

In pcb, click File, then Export layout..., then ps, then set media
(paper size) correctly, then verify scale = 1.000, then click OK. The
output ps file should look good.
